Rarrdjali Aboriginal Corporation was formed by Yawuru people in 2001 to help improve their lives, culturally and economically, through a CDEP program funded by Atsic. The name Rarrdjali comes from Rarrdjali Point, situated about 50 kilometres north of Broome near Lake Eda. This traditional Yawuru land is still abundant in wildlife today. The Yawuru language is being taught again to youngsters at Cable Beach High School by Doris Edgar.
