台彎原住民族運動發展歷程中，台灣原住民族相當程度地與國際接軌，並且深知國際交流的重要性。由於台灣原住民族運動受到世界原住民運動相當程度之啟蒙。國際間更有人因此倡導「第四世界」的概念，期盼連結世界原住民針對共同面臨的議題相互支援、提供相關經驗，進而達到爭取權利的目的。

In the context of Taiwan indigenous movement, the Taiwan indigenous groups closely linked with international indigenous. Because Taiwan’s indigenous movement was enlightened by the international indigenous movement, some people advocated the “Fourth World” and linked the various indigenous peoples to face the key issues and fight for rights.
