寶山村位於高雄縣桃源鄉東南方，為布農族聚落。

本研究在說明布農族郡社群從南投、花蓮、台東進入高雄地區長時間、長距離的遷徙歷史，在這樣的聚落發展源流及變遷過程當中，尋找社會變遷的兩個點，布農族郡社群與魯凱族下三社群萬山社的互動，產生了第一階段的文化共融與衝突，寶山村布農族移居六龜漢人社區後形成第二階段的文化共融與衝突，這兩個點階段性可以幫助說明整個族群文化變遷的背景因素。

研究中發現寶山村布農族居住地選擇與決策受到聚落坍方、通婚、生活便利性、學童就學、貸款購屋、職業工作、依親而居等因素的影響，並在六龜鄉六龜村及中興村形成集居的現象，也造成寶山村的沒落。

論文中針對四個課題做研究---教育與職業、經濟的生活型態、宗教信仰的延續、文化習俗的變遷，在研究中發現寶山村布農族因為了孩子的教育，遷移至六龜漢人社區居住，在職業的結構上呈現了現代化所謂軍公教第三級產業的特色，進而影響生活型態、文化習俗的改變。

Situated at the south-east side of Taoyuan Township, Kaohsiung County, Baoshan Village is a Bunun Settlement.

This study aims at illustrating the long-term and the long-distance migrating history of the Isi Buku of the Bunun Tribe who had traveled from Nantou, to Hualien, Taitung, finally entering and settling in the Kaohsiung area. Two key points of social change are to be discovered in the process of community development and changes. The first key point occurred when the Isi Buku interacted with the Totouka-kongatawanu-oponubu of the Rukai Tribe, igniting the first phase of cultural integration and conflict. The second phase of cultural integration and conflict occurred when the Bunun people of Baoshan Village moved into the Han community in Liouquei. Both key points can help to explain the background of the cultural changes experienced by the Bunun Tribe as a whole.

The research discovered that the strategy and choice of location for residence by the Bunun people in Baoshan Village were affected by landslides, marriage, convenience of the location to daily life, distance to school, mortgages, occupations and the residence of family members. In addition, the new settlements formed at Liouquei Village and Jhongsin Village of Liouquei Township also contributed to the downfall of Baoshan Village.
