本研究目的，為探究自紅葉少棒隊成軍以來，台東縣少棒運動發展之歷史軌跡，追溯其脈絡，並了解期間台東縣少棒運動的演變過程、發展之困境及因應，以做為台東縣少棒運動未來發展的借鏡。本研究採質性研究，運用文獻分析與訪談法，選取台東縣內發展少棒運動具有歷史傳統或具體績效之學校人員共計十八位為樣本，逐一進行訪談。研究之主要發現得知台東縣少棒運動之發展主要在原住民熱愛棒球運動、聯賽制度、民間力量的支持及牽動下基層棒運得以推展。而台東縣少棒運動發展面臨之主要困境為學校棒球選手被挖角、經費緊縮與資源不足、政府政策的支持度造成學校組訓意願低落及發展遲滯。

最後，研究者根據研究結果提出對台動縣少棒發展問題之具體建議，期能讓台東的少棒運動發展有更遠、更美好的未來。

The purpose of this study is to investigate the historical progress, development and difficulties of juvenile baseball in Taitung since the establishment of Hong-Ye Juvenile Baseball Team. The evolvement of the juvenile baseball in Taitung was discussed as references for future development of Taitung juvenile baseball.

By collecting more detailed historical material and information is this study, it is intended to establish the foundation of a baseball development museum in Taitung. Lastly, specific research suggestions are also provided for the better future of the juvenile baseball development in Taitung.

This research adopted an exploratory qualitative approach, using literature analysis and interview method. The samples are 18 historical and resultful school’s member in Taitung juvenile baseball development. The findings of the study are that the juvenile baseball development in Taitung can be promoted by the love of baseball in aborigines, a league match system and folk supports. The difficulty is that school talents been recruited by other teams, limited budget and resource, low support from government result in sluggish development.



Lastly, the researcher provides specific suggestions to the problems of juvenile baseball development in Taitung County based on the results, hoping that it will achieve further and better future.
