本研究兼採量化與質化之方法研究，量化部份以台東縣九十六年十月份舉行之學力檢測成績為樣本，使用敘述性統計、t考驗、單因子變異數分析、多元迴歸分析、二因子變異數分析等統計方法，分析學力檢測之成績資料，再針對量化資料中具有特殊性，值得探究之處進行訪談，總結量化與質化研究之結果有以下發現：

一、原住民學生學力檢測成績低於非原住民學生

造成差異之原因主要為家庭因素。

二、女學生學力成績高於男學生

女學生成績較優原因為：女生較用心於課業、心理成熟度高於男生。但是女學生在數學成績上領先幅度低於國語與英語。

三、非低收入戶學生學力檢測成績高於低收入戶學生

低收入戶成績較差之原因為：家中經濟困難、家長不重視教育及學生自信心不足。

四、外籍配偶子女學力檢測成績略高於非外籍配偶子女

外籍配偶子女成績略高之原因為：家長對於教育的重視、弱勢族群的憂患意識、外籍配偶家庭非經濟最弱勢。外籍配偶中，大陸籍配偶子女表現最佳。

五、關山鎮在學力檢測之表現優異

學力成績以地區做比較，國小階段台東市領先，國中階段卻以關山鎮較優。其原因為：學生越區就讀、教師教學認真、公教家庭多、學生較質樸認真、補習風氣興盛。

六、受訪教師與學生對學力檢測的意見與看法

大多數教師贊成舉行學力檢測，並認為家庭與學校是影響學力檢測成績最重要的原因。

1. Aboriginal students have lower achievement than non-aboriginal students in the basic competence test

The main cause of the difference is family factors.



2. Female students have better achievement than male students

The causes of female students’ better result are listed below:

Girls pay more attention to their study.

Girls reach higher psychological maturity than boys.

The different educating methods of parents.

However, girl students have less superiority in mathematics than in literay subjects and English.



3. Non-low-income students have better achievement than low-income students in the test

The causes of low-income students’ lower achievement are below:

Their family have financial difficulties.

Their parents do not pay attention to children’s education.

Students lack self-confidence.

4. Foreign spouses’ children have slightly higher achievement than non-foreign spouses’ children in the test

The reasons why foreign spouses’ children have slightly higher achievement are below:

Parents pay more attention to children’s education.

The conscious of danger of disadvantaged minority.

Foreign spouses’ families are not the most underprivileged in economics.

Childrens of foreign souses who come from mainland China have the best performance than from any other nationalities.



5. Students from Guanshan Township have excellent performance in the test

Comparing the test result among different regions, students from Taitung city have the best performance in the primary school stage while students from Guanshan Township are the best in the junior high school stage. The causes may be:

Many students come from other regions.

The teachers are conscientious about teaching.

Many parents work as teachers or officials.

Students are more unadorned and pay more attention to study.

Students tend to attend crammed schools.



6. Suggestions and opinions about basic competence test from teachers and students who are interviewed

(1) Most of the teachers in favor of holding basic competence tests.

(2) Families and schools have the greatest influence on the result of basic competence tests.
