This research aims to explore the development of Truku Aboriginal physical exercise in Chong-de Elementary School, Hualien County as followings:
(1) Study the motivation of planning Truku Aboriginal physical exercise in Chong-de Elementary School, Hualien County.
(2) Evaluate the result of Truku Aboriginal physical exercise in Chong-de Elementary School, Hualien County.
Base on the aim and the structure of this research, the curriculum of Truku Aboriginal physical exercise is designed with the background knowledge of related literature review. This research adopts both quantitative and qualitative research methods to increase the validity level. Data collected from designed questionnaire for subjective points of view and semi-structure interviews for more detailed information. The findings of this research are as below:
(1) The result of questionnaire shows a very positive rating of Truku Aboriginal physical exercise curriculum in terms of both the cultural impact of Truku Tribe and the fitness practice in well-being.
(2) The diverse motivations of developing Truku Aboriginal physical exercise curriculum in Chong-de Elementary School include increasing tribal and cultural identity, appreciating arts and humanities, improving fitness level by exercise regularly, building up self-confident and interacting with the peer students.
(3) The key point of the success of Truku Aboriginal physical exercise curriculum is the support and encouragement from the principle of Chong-de Elementary School.
(4) The efficient cooperative research teamwork is another significant factor of the success of Truku Aboriginal physical exercise curriculum.
(5) Truku Aboriginal physical exercise curriculum has been followed the initial plan which has a positive feedback from various aspects.
The positive feedback from Truku Aboriginal physical exercise curriculum can prove as a suggestion to the related Educational Department national-wise that developing creative physical exercise curriculum base on the individualities of schools can be highly promoted. The popular Truku Aboriginal physical exercise curriculum among students and parents can be encouraged to spread among aboriginal schools and schools that are interested in promoting aboriginal cultures.
The suggestions to Chong-de Elementary School are to keep on promoting the current curriculum, developing teacher-training courses in the related cultural fields, interacting with the local communities for promoting traditional aboriginal cultures.
