ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to understand the physical activity, and correlated variables of the aboriginal primary school students. The subjects’ chosen were the 4th, 5th,and 6th grade aboriginal(including Bunun, Amis, Paiwan, Rukai, Puyuma, Yami) students of the Primary school of the Taitung city. Correlated variables of physical activity were measured by a structured questionnaire. The Bouchard three-day physical activity record was used to record subjects'' physical activity. The questionnaire with the internal consistency and validity of Cronbach’s alphas ranged from 0.66 to 0.90, and the content validity index(CVI) data was 0.93 were used in this study. There were 321 effective samples. The statistical techniques, such as frequency, t-test, ONE-WAY ANOVA, multiple regressions, were used for data analysis using the SPSS 10.0 software on a personal computer. From which the following conclusions were drawn.: 1. The physical activity of the subjects was higher on weekends than on weekdays. 2. The peers'' supports were significantly related to physical activity. 3. “Perceived benefit for exercise” and “watch exercise TV program” were the important predictable factors of physical activity in primary school students of Aborigine. 4. The important predictable factors of physical activity in Aborigine is: ⑴Bunun: “teacher’s supports” and “has likes exercise star” is The important predictable factors of physical activity. ⑵Amis: “grade” is The important predictable factors of physical activity. ⑶Paiwan: “perceived barrier” is The important predictable factors of physical activity. ⑷Rukai: “peer’s supports” and “Perceived benefit for exercise” is The important predictable factors of physical activity. ⑸Puyuma: “ethnic image” and “environments factor” is The important predictable factors of physical activity. ⑹Yami: “exercise equipment of family”、 “grade” 、“Perceived benefit for exercise”、 “watch exercise TV program”、 “whether students were members of school athletic team” is The important predictable factors of physical activity.
