花蓮地區不同階段學生之宗教觀與對科學的態度之相關性研究(The relationship between the students’ attitudes toward religion and the attitudes toward science in different learning stages in Hualien)

本研究旨在探討花蓮地區不同階段學生之宗教觀與對科學的態度之相關,並藉此來了解學生之宗教觀是否會影響到學生未來選擇與科學相關的工作。研究採問卷調查,探究不同階段學生對宗教的觀感及對科學的態度各為何?以及二者有何相關?研究母群為花蓮地區小五、國二、及高(職)二的在學學生 (合計5484人),依年級與地區比例分層叢集隨機取樣(N=817人),回收問卷719份(回收率88%)。

研究結果發現,花蓮地區不同階段的學生以國中生的信仰比例為最高,無宗教信仰者以高中職比例最高。其宗教信仰以信仰基督教(或天主教)的學生對自己宗教的教義有較深入的了解。原住民的信仰以基督教(或天主教)為主,祖靈次之。非原住民以信仰道教為主,無信仰者次之。年齡越大越少參與宗教相關活動且易受他人影響而改變信仰。對宗教與科學的關係部份,整體而言並無太大相關,但國小階段學生認為宗教和科學是無關的比例較高,國、高中生則認為兩者是有相關的。且年齡越大越不認為宗教與科學是對立的。對科學的態度部份,一般呈現正向的態度。且各階段大致相同。但年齡越大者對科學活動的參與越不感興趣。另外除了學生的「對宗教信仰的態度」與「對科學家及科學生涯的態度」沒有顯著相關之外,其餘各向度間均有相關性。對未來選擇科學工作部份是男生意願高於女生、有信仰高於無信仰;非原住民男生高於原住民男生,餘差異不大。以信仰的宗教來看各主要宗教之間無顯著差異。

The study aims to understand the relationship between the students’ attitudes toward religion and their attitudes toward science. The investigation was based on questionnaire survey. Through stratified random sampling, the subjects including 817 samples in Hualien areas were selected. Questionnaires were administered to the selected subjects. Among the returned questionnaires, 719 were valid. The research data were analyzed by the way of describing statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient and one-way ANOVA method.

The main findings showed that the junior high school students have the faith percentage more than other learning stages, and the senior school students have no faith percentage more than the other. As the students growing, they have fewer interests to take religious activities and more easy change their belief by the other, and they do not think the religion and science are opposite. On the other hand, for every stage students’ opinion, there is no significant relationship between the religion and science, but In different stages, students’ “attitudes toward science” do not have different. In the future, the boys want to choice the job about science or technical than the girls.
