蘭嶼達悟族朗島部落勇士舞(ganam iraraley:達悟語「朗島的舞蹈」之意),是今日流行於朗島這個部落,共有24段動作變化的男性舞蹈;此舞蹈是為了參與1979年在台北舉行的雙十國慶大遊行所編創,並在台北新公園第一次公演。此種舞蹈起源於二次世界大戰後,1950年代的朗島部落男性在追求生活的樂趣中,以嬉戲為起點,發展出表演性質的身體運動型態,而後逐漸將這樣的型態轉化為舞蹈型態。

本論文主旨以達悟男性舞蹈發展的社會背景為起始,論及形成勇士舞之緣由和過程,以及勇士舞正式對外展演後的情形,同時尋求其歷史脈絡;隨後,針對定型化的勇士舞的歌詞創作、旋律與舞蹈三部份之形式、結構上的分析;最後,在勇士舞的主體本質,音樂與舞蹈,及其生成脈絡中,探尋其顯現的文化性特徵,進而分析其背後所隱藏的文化意涵。最後,回到勇士舞的主體本質,音樂與舞蹈中,探尋其生成脈絡,從顯現的民族特徵,筆者最終欲意寫露出其背後隱藏的文化意涵。

About the Dance of Iraraley (ganam iraraley), it was from Tao of Lanyu which is a male dance contained 24 variations, and nowadays comes into style in tribe Iraraley. This dance of Iraraley was made by some teenagers who born in 1950’s. They were invited for representing their dance on parade held on October 10 the National Day in 1979. Interestingly while these young boys in the same generation played games joyously, they have developed their body’s movements and transformed them -into patterns of an organized exhibition.

This thesis is first trying to affiliate the sequences of ideas of dance of Iraraley by Tao’s male dance progress through the original background of male dancing in Tao’s society, the reason and the course of the choreographic development, and the tracks of it’s performs in the past of years. Second, is analyzing the dance structure, lyrics, melody and movement, at last, discussting the signs of characteristics and implication of Tao’s culture through the text and context of dance of Iraraley.

The interests of this thesis firstly tries to affiliate the sequences of ideas of the dance of Iraraley, progressing through the original background of male dancing in Tao’s society - not only about his history and development of choreography, but also about the records of his perform in the past of years ; second, to analyze the dance structures, lyrics, melodies and movements ; and finally, to discuss the signs of characteristics and the implication of Tao’s culture through the text and context of dance of Iraraley.
