本論文旨在對南部平埔族群西拉雅族的會所源由進行研究，以台灣原住民會所的社會文化內涵來看「會所」的類型比較，以人類學、歷史學、社會學的觀點來解析其社會功能，再經太平洋地區的南島語族的「會所」對照分析，提出「會所」的各項功能、消失沒落的原因、和其存在的社會性、重要性等。目的在探討西拉雅族會所類型與臺灣原住民的會所類型有無相似性，會所的社會文化功能，會所與年齡組織、母系社會的關係，以及大洋洲會所與臺灣原住民會所的類型、功能有無相似性，並進一步探討西拉雅族早期會所的樣貌，和釐清會所、祖靈屋、公廨三者之間的關係與名詞上的混淆。

第一章：說明研究動機與目的，並對既有的相關文獻與研究進行回顧，以及界定研究範圍，與研究流程。

第二章：敘述臺灣有會所的原住民族的族稱、分類、人口、族群的分佈以及傳統的社會文化。

第三章：討論說明阿美族、卑南族、西拉雅族的會所現況與類型，並介紹大洋洲美拉尼西亞與密克羅西亞的會所類型功能。

第四章：針對文獻記載資料中，從荷據時期至現今，關於西拉雅族會所的描述與現況，做文獻的解讀與名詞上的釐清分析與研究。

第五章：將荷據以來現今的文獻做分析解讀，並以跨族群的會所文化研究，來推論西拉雅族會所之原貌。

This dissertation mainly discusses about the origin of Siraya community house based on a social cultural background of Taiwan aboriginal community house. Through analyzing their social functions from point of views of anthropology, history, and sociology, and comparing them with the Austronesian community house in the Pacific Ocean region, a conclusion can be inferred for the community house including the versatile uses, reasons of the decline, and the importance for the society. It aims to explore the possible similarity lies between Siraya and Taiwan aboriginal community house, the social cultural functions of community house, the relationship among community house and age composition and matriarchal society, the possible similarity in the type and function between Oceania and Taiwan aboriginal community house, further more, the features of primitive Siraya community house, and the explication of relationship and phraseology confusions among community house, spirit house and konkai.



Chapter 1

State the research motivation and objectives, review on related literature, and define the research scope and methodology.

Chapter 2

Introduce the aboriginals in Taiwan that have the community house, including names, classifications, states of distributions, and the conventional social cultures.

Chapter 3

Discuss the types and present status of community house of Amis, Puyuma, and Siraya. Additionally, introduce the function of community house of the Oceania Melanesian and Micronesia.

Chapter 4

Analyze the literature and explicate the phraseology based on descriptions of Siraya community house in the existing literature from the period of Dutch occupation till nowadays.

Chapter 5

Infer the original features of Siraya community house by analyzing the existing literature tracing back from the period of Dutch occupation, and cross-racial researching on the community house culture.
