少數民族地區的文化旅遊已成為世界旅遊的新趨勢，藉由文化旅遊增進彼此的了解與欣賞。但是在文化差異的主客之間所造成的社會現象，仍存在著不同的詮釋觀點。本文的重點在於以民族誌研究法，採用參與觀察及深度訪談方式，深度描述台灣蘭嶼島上的文化旅遊現象，並以符號互動理論解釋人與己、人與人、人與事、人與景的互動過程中，產生的意義與社會行為的改變。希望深化文化旅遊的認知，增進相互尊重、欣賞的主客互動關係，達到文化保存的目的。

在經歷了大約二年的時間，訪談的東道主68人、旅遊者41人、政府行政人員12人，經資料分析後發現：

一、 旅遊者的旅遊文化動機有待加強

二、 主客互動的質量影響體驗的濃度

三、 東道主扮演文化傳遞的重要角色

四、 東道主對文化儀式採「內演的真實」與「外演的權宜」並行

五、 旅遊造成社會結構、經濟制度的改變

六、 旅遊也造成傳統與現代的矛盾

最後試圖在文化的基礎下，尋找出「共感、共染、模仿」的整合密碼，提供政府及族人發展的參考。

Cultural tourism which includes visiting historic sites, museums, cultural landmarks; and attending special events, festivals is the new trends formed in the world. The purpose of this study was to explore the indigenous cultural tourism in Orchid Island. We understand and appreciate each other through the cultural tourism; however, the differences between the hosts and the guests form the multi- interpretation in the social phenomenon.

The approach of ethnography and the theory of symbolic interaction were adopted in this study. In the meanwhile, the way of in-depth interviews, observations and documents analyzed, which vividly described the cultural tourism of Tao tribe in Orchid Island were conducted

The theory of symbolic interaction was interpreted the interactions between people and themselves, people and people, people and things, and people and scenery. What produce among the various interactions were changed among social behaviours. I deeply wish that what I understand from the cultural tourism can enhance mutual respects, and the appreciating relationships between the hosts and the guests; moreover, the keeping of culture can be well-performed in this way.

Through the years of two, after so many conversations and interactions among 68 hosts of Orchid Island, 41 tourists, and 12 governmental administrators. Major conclusions of this study were as following:

1. The motives of tourists in the way of cultural tourism need to be improved.

2. The interactions between the hosts and the guests influence the depth of experiences when the guests take the trips to visit the hosts.

3. What the hosts play in the role of the cultural performances is to carry the depth of cultural contents.

4. The hosts adapt the way of the true performances for our own people and in the same time using the way of compromising the performce for strangers.

5. Tourism develops the different structures in the society.

6. The changes in the economic system also create the contradictory effects between the tradition and the modernity.

After so many efforts made under the basis of cultural tourisms, what I am looking for is the “code of mutual emotions, mutual affections, and mutual imitations.” At last, I wish that this study can provide the developing and promising references for the government and the tribe people in the Orchid Island.
