無論是聚落開發的規劃或者是居民對於身家財產相對於天然災害的保全，針對原住民居住環境潛在災害所進行的調查，可以提供對於所居住自然環境的完整資訊，進而提供聚落上述問題對策研擬的依據。因此，本計畫具有以下目的及功能: (1)提供自然環境之完整資訊，明示災害，防災機先 (2)提供治理對策與依據 (3)作為原住民居住環境災害防治的綜合對策之基礎就長程治本規劃而言，原住民居住環境防災工作將在災害預防、應變搶救及復建整治的完整災害歷程考量基礎下，以原住民社會為思考主軸，建起完善永續的防災體系，建立永續發展的原住民家園。也唯有在原住民聚落居住環境安全確保無虞的先決條件下，才能在面對文化、經濟、生活型態改變的衝擊下，尋求原住民部落生活的新風貌，進而找尋符合原住民先祖與大自然和諧共處的文化傳承。The purpose of this investigation is to provide the information management of geological hazard(for example landslide, rock fall, debris flow, coastal and river bank erosion etc.) in settlements of aborgines in Taiwan. The establishment of database includes the inventory of the natural environment, sensitive regions of disaster, infrastructures and related agencies.The result of investigation and applications of developed models can evaluate and provide the high-risk areas of geological hazard in settlements of aborgines. GIS is used as assisant tools for disaster prevention, disaster rescue, controlling and recovering of geological hazard to insure the living function of settlements.
