演講將以近來年人類世過度以毀壞(ruin)與失去(loss)為框架的研究趨向切入,探討此框架如何延續資本主義與殖民主義,以另類實踐的名義行偷渡殖民者永續經營之實。Dr. Powell將反思此框架對原住民族帶來的政治效應,並以北美納瓦荷(Diné)原住民族環境正義的相關實證研究為例,說明原住民族對於土地的關懷,如何挑戰此毀壞/失去敘事作為原民生活與地景的基本框架,進而提出一種具歷史與解殖民感性,並以土地為基礎實踐的倫理。
