從1916年以來，美國人民委託國家公園管理處來照管人民的國家公園。在志工與合作夥伴的協助下，管理處保護了超過四百個地點，並每年分享這些土地的故事給275萬以上的遊客。可是國家公園管理處的工作並沒有就此止步。不論部落、地方政府、非營利組織、企業以及公民個人，皆經由國家公園管理處的協助而得以振興他們的部落與社區、保存地方歷史、慶祝當地風俗，並為孩童和家庭創造離家近的、可以外出活動休閒的機會。

Since 1916, the American people have entrusted the National Park Service with the care of their national parks. With the help of volunteers and park partners, we are proud to safeguard these more than 400 places and to share their stories with more than 275 million visitors every year. But our work doesn''t stop there. We are proud that tribes, local governments, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individual citizens ask for our help in revitalizing their communities, preserving local history, celebrating local heritage, and creating close to home opportunities for kids and families to get outside, be active, and have fun.
