Australian Aboriginal Art found at Mason Gallery in Darwin, in the Northern Territory, is art collected primarily from the Papunya, Kintore, Kiwirrkura and Utopia, Eastern desert areas. Australian Aboriginal Art work from this area is readily recognizable with its distinctive Tingari designs and use of bright bold colors. Designs painted reflect the dreaming stories of their cultural past. Many of these highly recognixable award winning artists travel between their community bases and Alice Springs. Home lands consist of areas about Balgo in the Kimberley’s and small communities of the Western Desert. The Mason Gallery now displays works by many of the major artists from the Western Desert Areas and it is the ambition of the gallery, to become a provider of quality works from the area.
