自1987年臺灣解嚴後,族群認同成為熱烈討論的題目,而在漢人政府統治下,原住民族文化逐漸流失,造成族群認同的困境,也致使原住民社會運動的產生。1994年首屆臺灣原住民運動會,於屏東縣舉辦,至2007年已舉辦十屆。為能了解在此背景下,原住民族群與認同的關係;臺灣原住民運動會的發展歷程及其影響;以及臺灣原住民運動會與族群認同的相關性。本論文採用歷史社會學的研究方法,透過歷史事件及相關文獻的分析,探討以上的議題。從臺灣原住民運動會起源、內涵、相關規定中,可以發現臺灣原住民的變遷過程與族群認同有著密切的關係。漢人政府,對於運動會中舉辦的項目、儀式、經費等,掌握大部分的控制權,而隨著原住民族群意識抬頭的過程,透過此運動會,原住民傳統體育文化的再現,族群認同也得以重新建構。從臺灣原住民運動會的舉辦,可以發現運動會中,包含著漢人政府所欲傳遞的意識形態、原住民族對漢人價值觀的認同、以及原住民族對自我族群的認同,此三種族群認同的形塑。而歷經十屆的臺灣原住民運動會也從追求漢人的價值觀,逐漸轉變為文化傳承,運動會成為強化自我認同的場域。而臺灣原住民運動會也正是臺灣原住民族尋求自我認同的歷史見證。

Ethnic identity has become a popular issue since the Martial Law lifted in Taiwan in 1987. Under control of Han people, the fact that indigenous people’s culture has been lost and caused the problem of ethnic identity has resulted in Taiwan aboriginalism. Aboriginal People Sports Meeting in Taiwan has taken place for ten years since 1994 in Pingtung. This study aims to understand the relation between indigenous people and its ethnic identity, the development progress and its impact of Aboriginal People Sports Meeting in Taiwan, and the correlation between the game and ethnic identity against this background. It applied a research method in historical sociology to investigate these issues above with the analysis of historical issues and relevant literatures. From the origin, content, and related rules of the game, we found there is a close relation between the change process and ethnic identity of Taiwan indigenous people. Han government has most of control of sports events, ritual, and money, etc. As ethnic consciousness awakening, traditional sports culture of indigenous people can reappear and ethnic identity can be rebuilt through this game. From Aboriginal People Sports Meeting in Taiwan, we can also find that the game contains ideology Han government wants to deliver, the acceptance of Han’s values, and self-identity of indigenous people. The purpose of ten-year-old aboriginal People Sports Meeting in Taiwan has shifted from following the values of Han people to pass down their cultures. The game has become the place to strengthen self-identity and also a historical prove of Taiwan indigenous people seeking its self-identity. |
