The purpose of this study was to investigate mathematic achievement and mathematic anxiety of the elementary aboriginal students; also comparing the differences and analyzing the correlation between mathematical achievement and mathematical anxiety with personal background of fifth grade elementary aboriginal students.
The sample included 107 elementary aboriginal students in Pingtung county, using “The Elementary Aboriginal Students’ Mathematical Achievement and Mathematical Anxiety Questionnaire” as a tool and processing the data by the SPSS-for-windows software with statistical methods, Pearson’s product-moment correlation analysis and so on.
The findings of the study are as follows:
1.Gender have significant effects in elementary aboriginal student mathematical achievement .
2.The performance of girl students’ mathematical achievement was almost better than boy students.
3.There is a remarkable correlation between mathematical achievement and mathematical anxiety of the fifth grade elementary aboriginal students.
Some recommendations based on the study results of the study are suggested for the mathematical teaching , aboriginal parents, elementary schools, elementary school teachers and further studies.
