Art is the reflection of humans’ lives and passions. Since ancient time, art has been part of people’s everyday life. They even carved their important events on the rocks or in the caves. If you are curious about their lives and history, taking a look at the drawings in the caves or totem on the rocks would be a good start.

As researcher appreciated primitive totem, researcher was deeply touched by the lively art style, yet worried it would be avalanched with modern technology. Seeing this, researcher focus on the theme of primitive life, review the literatures of how aborigines lived peacefully with mother nature, analyze the rules of primitive life, reflect on ourselves and find a way to balance economics grow and ecosystem protection. Researcher also interprets the meaning and value of life by art creation.

The research integrates theories and practice from the point of view of modern art flowing from primitive art, explore the totem and primitive life and interaction of aborigines and mother nature, construct the idea and the theme of art creation.

The forms and skills that researcher apply to balance the modern art and primitive art include juxtaposition, overlapping, tridimensional golden section and structural stretchability. In this way, researcher create three series of works of art. They are “Thoughts and Dialogue” , “Way out or Die out” and “Mutual Understanding and Coexistence ”. They show how deeply researcher is moved by primitive art and convey researcher’s care about it. Researcher hope that the three series would draw more people’s attention to primitive totem culture and develop research’s ability of art creation.
