澳洲原住民心理醫師協會是個國家最高級的機構，代表在澳洲的原住民心理醫師和托雷斯海峽島民心理醫師。 該協會為澳洲原住民和托雷斯海峽島民致力於經由共同合作，使個人、家庭到社區的社會福利、情緒管理和心理健康得到改善；同時也致力於縮減原住民與非原住民之間在社會福利、情緒管理和心理健康的差距。具體來說澳洲原住民心理醫師協會正在努力增加原住民心理醫師的人數，這個改變需要做到公平性、有連接性和持續性，能及時又符合文化地使澳洲原住民和托雷斯海峽島民無論在城市、地方或偏遠地帶都能得到適當的心理治療。

The Australian Indigenous Psychologists Association (AIPA) is the national peak body representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander psychologists in Australia. AIPA is committed to improving the social and emotional well-being and mental health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities by collaborative work with others committed to ‘closing the gap'' between Indigenous and non-Indigenous social and emotional wellbeing and mental health outcomes. Specifically AIPA is working to increase the number of Indigenous psychologists and to lead the change required to deliver equitable, accessible, sustainable, timely and culturally competent psychological care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in urban, regional and remote Australia.
