「一座島嶼的可能性」─以日月潭國家風景區之設計操作

台灣島與海的交界形成台灣島整體外輪廓線,鐵道的輪廓線將環島鐵路圍蔽成台灣島型的內縮形狀。由內環圈檢視外環圈,看見海即可確定海陸的交界,證明島的存在,找到邊界(出口)對於我們來說是一種入口,也是一種出口。火車車窗作為框景,填入風景人物與地方特色,窗景從熟悉的影像轉換成陌生的場景,藉由不斷變化的影像所分析出的三種狀態分別是:觀看者的角度(同一與多重)、投射的狀態(部分與整體)與想像與真實(顯現與不顯現)等。小說閱讀也是一樣,目錄隱藏小說整體架構,從開始閱讀便將讀者投影在內文上。將小說閱讀與操作練習作為基礎的經驗佐證環島鐵路的觀察,以拉魯島擴島計畫作為事件開始,水社為主要的基地範圍與2008觀光備增計畫配合,將觀察所得到的三種狀態轉化成三種概念:重疊、互換、分離,作為邵族人、旅客與日月潭的對話關係,落實在民宿、水上餐廳、拉魯島的設計上。

The borderline between Taiwan and the ocean outlines the whole island, and moreover the lineation of the island-round rails that circle the island adumbrates the skeleton of the island. Inspecting the outer circle from the inner side, we can substantiate the existence of the island since the view of the ocean confirms the borderline. The borderline, to us, is not only an entrance but also exit.Taking the window of the train to be a frame, we fill figures and local features in this frame where views shift from familiar images to strange scenes. There are three states analyzed through the changing images as follow: the viewer’s perspectives (single and multiple), projection conditions (partial and integral), and imagination and reality (appearing and hidden). Reading a novel is the same as well. The table of contents connotes the integral frame of a novel. When reading, the readers project into the contents until the finale of the novel.Considering novel reading and operating practice as a basic experience to the observation of the island-round railways, the Lalu island expansion project would be the start of the event, the Shuishe as a major based ground, and in association with the 2008 double tourists plan, transforms the observed three states to three concepts overlapping, interchange and separation, as the dialogic relations of the Thao aborigines, tourists and the Sun Moon Lake, further implement the designs of restaurants on the water and the Lalu island.
