隨著台灣國人生活品質之提升，對於水源之要求日益殷切，截至民國93年6月自來水普及率已達91％，顯示台灣民眾有良好之供水水源。在偏遠山區之民眾或原住民，大多使用以地表水或受地表水影響的地下水做為簡易供水之水源。然而，乾淨之山泉水，卻可能藏有看不見之寄生蟲，而簡易供水系統有已知或未知之污染危機，因此，改善原住民地區供水問題為當務之急。本研究主要以十處原住民部落進行訪查相關之自來水供水系統、污水系統及雨水設施，其中結果顯示簡易自來水設施空有消毒設施卻未運轉、自來水管理委員會缺乏專業之訓練、災害過後設施受破壞未有經費重建、影響原住民應有權力、水質未經常性檢測引起嚴重污染、自來水設施後續缺乏維護與管理之人力無法使其發揮最大功能。大致而言，原住民地區多缺乏專業自來水管理及操作維護之教育訓練，因此，為提升原住民地區生活水準及環境，宜進行改善供水之問題，協助並加強輔導原住民地區辦理飲水設施操作及維護管理，以達原住民地區飲用水之品質。
According to the improvement of living condition, the need of the water source is eagerly important for our daily life. Till the end of June 2004, which shows the Taiwan people enjoy the good water supply. In rural areas and remote mountain regions, almost aboriginal who live there get surface water or polluted groundwater as the water source of primitive water supply. However, the clean mountain spring has the crisis such as parasite, and the primitive water supply system has crisis of pollution. Therefore, improving water supply question in aboriginal tribe becomes an urgent requirement now. The purpose of this study is to investigate that ten aboriginal tribe regarding tap-water supply system, sewerage system and rainwater system. It shows that the primitive water supply system has disinfectant facilities which are not operating, and that the tap water communications commission lacked training. There are no fundings which the government departments for re-construction assistance organization is for the victims of natural disasters, and aboriginal of authority for drinking water is deprived. In addition, the checking for the water quality inconstantly provokes serious pollution, and the tap-water facility is lacked for maintenance and management. According to those reasons, it is unable to develop the most powerful function. General speaking, the aboriginal tribes lack of management, operation maintenance of education, and training for tap-water system. Therefore, reaching the quality of tap-water for aboriginal and promoting life level of aboriginal tribes and environment is to improve water supply, assist the aboriginal handling the tap-water facility and operating the maintenance mangement.
