The purpose of this research is to understand the current situation of the relationship between the parental rearing styles of the indigenous children in the upper grades of elementary schools and their life adjustment and the correlation between the two. And the difference of variables in different contexts.
This study adopts the questionnaire survey method, using two questionnaires of """"Parenting Style Scale"""" and """"Life Adjustment Scale"""" as tools for collecting data. The study objects are the primary indigenous children of elementary schools in Tai''an Township in Miaoli County, Heping District in Taichung City, Renai Township and Xinyi Township in Nantou County.
The collected data are analyzed by descriptive statistics, Independent Samples t Test, One way ANOVA, and Pearson product moment correlation coefficient. The research results are summarized as follows:

1.Indigenous mothers’ parenting methods are higher than their fathers in dimensions of “demand” or “responsiveness,” and mothers bear heavier parenting responsibilities in the family.
2.Indigenous parents have higher """" demand """" for their children than"""" responsiveness """".
3.The degree of overall performance of life adjustment among 5 th and 6 th grade indigenous students is positive and above average.
4.Elementary school indigenous children in two-parent families perceive that their mothers’ """" demand """" are higher than those of other types of families.
5.The indigenous school children whose family ranks are middle children are better than the youngest in the dimensions of """"personal adjustment"""".
6.There are significant differences in the adjustment to life of the indigenous senior students of different genders.
7.The parenting styles of the indigenous upper-grade children’s parents and their adjustment to life are positively correlated and reach a significant standard.

Suggestions based on the findings of the study are provided for families, educational organizations, and future researchers.
