摘要
Malaysia is a country with multiracial, multicultural and multilingual society. Basically, there are four major ethnic groups in Malaysia, namely the Malay, Chinese, India, non-Malay natives or locally known as “Bumiputera”, and the indigenous populations known as the ‘Orang Asli’. Essentially, there are more than 150 ethnicities that are grouped as other minority groups. This presentation explores the diversity of the Malaysian society from the cultural perspective, beginning with the population of Aborigines (Orang Asli) residing the Malay Peninsula, and the modern Malays which is the major ethnicity, to the natives (Bumiputera) of East Malaysia (Malaysian Borneo). In this presentation, we will start our journey to explore briefly the ethnic groups in Malaysia especially the population of Aborigines and Indigenous.
